This position (seat) hears three major areas of law:

Domestic Cases:
Domestic Cases include Divorce, Paternity, Child Custody, Child Support, and other “Family Law” cases.
HOW IS MR HEISLER QUALIFIED: Mr. Heisler has 20+ years of experience as a trial attorney in this area of law. Mr. Heisler also sat on the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section Council where he educated other attorneys around the state on changes in the law. Mr. Heisler also was a faculty member for the Institute-Continuing Legal Education where he has also lectured to other attorneys from around the state in the area of family law. While many attorneys only practice in one state, Mr. Heisler was granted special permission (known as ProHac Vice) by the Florida Bar to appear in the State of Florida for a family law case that was transferred from Michigan to Florida.

Children’s Law Cases:
Children’s Law cases address Child Abuse, Child Neglect, and Child delinquency cases.
HOW IS MR HEISLER QUALIFIED: Mr. Heisler has 20+ years of experience as a trial attorney in this area of law. Mr. Heisler also currently sits on the State Bar of Michigan Children’s Law Section Council where he educated other attorneys around the state on changes in the law.

Adoptions:
Adoptions are cases where someone new is taking on the responsibility and gaining the right to be a parent.
HOW IS MR HEISLER QUALIFIED: Mr. Heisler has 20+ years of experience as a trial attorney in this area of law. Mr. Heisler also is one the few attorneys in the county who deals with adoptions in St. Clair County and has done cases in other counties in this area of law too.

Mr. Heisler practices throughout the State of Michigan. Chief Justice Roberts of the United States Supreme Court personally swore Mr. Heisler in as a member of the United States Supreme Court bar. Mr. Heisler has even represented other attorneys over the years.
